The TCA Offices on the campus of Tuskegee University has been home to 

  • Tuskegee’s first Black owned bank, Tuskegee Savings and Loan
  • The leaders of Tuskegee’s Civil Rights Movement - the Tuskegee Civic Association (TCA)
  • The offices of civil rights attorney Fred Gray

The home of Jessie Parkhurst and Dr. Ignacio Guzman is located near the campus of Tuskegee University. Jessie P. Guzman was Director of Records and Research at Tuskegee Institute and a lifelong civil rights activist.

At the side entrance of Lucius Amerson’s house is recognition of his place in U.S. history as the first Black sheriff in the country since Reconstruction. He was elected sheriff of Macon County in 1966.
